High Tea Design

A fully realized tea brand concept developed end-to-end, from character-driven identity through packaging and a functional e-commerce experience.

‍

Final logo and character direction for High Tea, combining a relaxed personality with a playful reinterpretation of traditional tea branding.

‍

This project began without a client, brief, or constraints, which allowed me to define both the concept and execution from the ground up. The goal was to create a cohesive tea brand that could carry across identity, packaging, and a complete digital experience.

The core idea behind High Tea was to reinterpret traditional tea culture with a subtle, playful twist. The brand balances familiarity with personality, using a character-driven approach to create something memorable without losing clarity or usability.

‍

Iterative character exploration refining silhouette, expression, lettering integration, and color balance.

‍

The identity centered on a teapot character that could carry the tone of the brand. Early exploration focused on balancing three competing elements: a readable teapot form, a relaxed personality, and a subtle nod to the “high tea” concept.

Expression became a key driver. Small adjustments to the eyes, posture, and proportions shifted the character from exaggerated to calm and slightly mischievous. At the same time, I explored how the “High Tea” lettering could live within the form, testing different styles to ensure it felt integrated rather than applied.

Color was intentionally constrained to a green palette, requiring careful use of contrast, fill, and line weight to maintain readability while reinforcing the theme.

‍

‍

Through multiple refinement passes, the design was simplified into a clean, recognizable mark. Unnecessary detail was removed, shapes were clarified, and contrast was improved to ensure the logo worked across different sizes and contexts.

The final result maintains personality without sacrificing clarity, allowing it to function equally well as a brand mark, product label, or digital asset.

Packaging system using consistent structure with color variation to differentiate flavors.

‍

With the identity established, I extended the system into packaging. Each product shares a consistent layout, allowing the brand to remain recognizable while using color and pattern to differentiate flavors.

The teapot mark anchors each package, while supporting elements such as typography, strength indicators, and botanical patterns create a scalable system that can expand across a full product line.

Shop page. Fully designed and developed e-commerce experience reflecting the brand across all touchpoints.

‍

The final phase of the project translated the brand into a working digital experience. I designed and developed a complete e-commerce site, ensuring that the visual identity carried consistently across navigation, product pages, and interactions.

The interface prioritizes clarity and usability while maintaining the brand’s tone through color, imagery, and layout. Product listings, category filtering, and checkout flows were all designed to feel cohesive with the physical packaging and overall identity.

This project demonstrates the ability to take a concept from nothing to a complete, launch-ready brand. Every decision, from naming and identity through packaging and digital experience, was defined and executed within a single, cohesive vision.

The result is a fully realized system that holds together across multiple touchpoints, showing how a strong visual direction can scale from illustration to product to platform.
